Majoriti liga di seluruh dunia telah 'Promosi Play-off' untuk membantu membuat keputusan yang mendapat kenaikan pangkat ke peringkat seterusnya piramid liga. Ia boleh hanya satu-satunya permainan atau siri permainan yang dimainkan selepas musim biasa berakhir dengan tujuan menentukan yang mendapat promosi bersama-sama dengan kelab-kelab yang telah mendapat kenaikan pangkat secara automatik.

For Dunia-Dunia Permainan Standard (excluding Dunia Permainan Rekaan as there is an option within ‘Advanced Rules’ of whether to include them or not) this means that the teams finishing in the play off places will contest the ‘Promotion Play-Offs’.

The semi-finals will be a one off match, with 6th playing 3rd and 5th playing 4th for example, and the home team being the higher placed team. The Final will be played at a neutral stadium and again would be a one off match, with the winner securing promotion to the next tier of the league pyramid.
